Easter in the Black Forest: what can you do?

Many guests at our vacation homes ask us: “What can you do in the Black Forest at Easter?” When the first crocuses sprout from the ground, the forests smell of damp earth and there is still a hint of winter in the air in the morning, one of the best times for a break on the Feldberg begins. During the Easter vacations, you can often enjoy the sun on the terrace. You can often take your jacket off while hiking. There are also many small markets, crafts and concerts. There are also plenty of ideas for day trips around Titisee, Todtnau and Blumberg. We have put together some tips for your Easter vacation in the Black Forest!

Would you like to rent a vacation home in the Black Forest over the Easter holidays?

Easter in the Black Forest: Spring vacation on the Feldberg

Around the Feldberg, spring often feels like an interplay. While daffodils bloom in the valley below, the peaks above can still look wintry. This is exactly what makes the Easter vacations so appealing. On the same weekend, you can take a leisurely walk through the forest, sit by the water, drink coffee in the sun and the next day head out on a panoramic trail from which you have a far-reaching view over the Black Forest.

Easter is ideal for a vacation home on the Feldberg because you remain flexible: short walks are possible right from the doorstep, longer tours towards the Feldberg summit or along the pasture fields. If the weather changes, you can drive a few hours to Titisee or one of the small towns with an Easter program.

Tip for families with children: The Easter bunny can hide wonderful Easter eggs for the children in the garden of our Feldberg Chalets!

Easter vacation for strolling: Visit markets and crafts

If you like to stroll around during your Easter vacation, you will find many events in the Black Forest that look like spring and smell of regional ideas. Wood, ceramics, decorations, little treats and sometimes even music. A few specific tips from the region:

A pre-Easter weekly market will take place in Calw on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a focus on seasonal produce and freshness.

On Sunday, March 29, 2026, there will be an Easter market in Blumberg with Sunday shopping from 11:00 to 18:00. This is convenient if you want to combine a day trip with the market, the town center and a coffee in between.

If you’re more in the mood for handicrafts, the Easter exhibition with handicrafts in Titisee-Neustadt am Titisee is just the thing for you. It is open daily from April 3 to 6, 2026 from 10:00 to 18:00.

Black Forest experiences at Easter: Blackforestline and excursion ideas around Todtnau

In Todtnau, you can experience nature and enjoy a special highlight: the BLACKFORESTLINE. An Easter egg hunt around the suspension bridge and Todtnau waterfall has been announced for the Easter weekend from 5 to 6 April 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00 in the area around the visitor center. This is a great idea if you’re out and about with the family or simply fancy an easy, playful round in an impressive setting.

Especially from Feldberg, Todtnau is also a good starting point for further stops: waterfall, short distances, stop for a bite to eat in between, then back to the vacation home, where the evening can end comfortably.

What Easter traditions are there in the Black Forest?

An Easter weekend that feels light

A tried and tested rhythm for Easter on the Feldberg is simple: start slowly in the morning, perhaps with a breakfast that tastes like a vacation. A walk outside at lunchtime, short or long depending on the weather. In the afternoon, head to a market or to Lake Titisee. In the evening, head back to the vacation home, take off your shoes, enjoy a cup of tea or wine and feel that the day has not been packed, but just right.

Note: Times and details of events can often change at short notice. It is best to check with the organizer or on the respective event page shortly before your visit.
